PPU advises purchasers on $800m Codelco notes issuance
Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría (PPU) has acted as legal adviser to the banks as initial purchasers of a $800 million, 3.750 percent notes issuance by Chilean national copper corporation Codelco.
The banks are BNP Paribas Securities Corp., HSBC Securities (USA), Mizuho Securities USA and Scotia Capital (USA).
The notes are due in 2031.
PPu’s team was led by partners Marcelo Armas (pictured) and Marcela Silva, and included associates Daniel Parodi and Macarena Soto
Davis Polk & Wardwell acted as US counsel to the initial purchasers, while Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton acted as US counsel to the issuer.
Chilean law firm Carey acted as local counsel to the issuer.
