PPU announced new co-chair in Chile
Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría announced that Marcelo Armas is the new co-chair of the regional law firm.
Armas will take over from Juan Francisco Gutiérrez, who held the role for three years since PPU went live in January 2015.
Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría is the product of the 2015 merger between legacy law firms Philippi in Chile and Prietocarrizosa in Colombia. Gutiérrez, together with Colombian co-chair Martin Acero, presided over the firm’s 2016 expansion into Peru, via a merger with two local firms, Ferrero and Delmar Ugarte.
Armas, who is a finance partner with expertise in capital markets and project finance, heaped praise upon his predecessor Gutierrez for his achievements and added “taking over as co-chair of a law firm with over 620 members is one of the most important challenges of my professional career as well as a confidence vote from my partners.”
