PPU Chile counsels Bank of Novia Scotia on $200m loan

Law firm Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero & Uria (PPU) advised the Bank of Novia Scotia in connection with the refinancing of a syndicated loan for $200 million granted in 2013 to Celulosa Arauco y Constitución.

ScotiabankCelulosa Arauco y Constitución is a Chilean wood pulp and forestry company, operating five pulp mills in Chile and one in Argentina.

PPU partner Marcelo Armas Mac Donald and associates Marcela Silva, Vicente Vergara, Macarena Valenzuela advised on the case.

In a separate case, PPU acted as counsel to gas distribution company Gasvalpo in connection with the refinancing of an existing $126 million debt granted by a bank syndicate to its parent company, GV Holding SpA.
