PPU Colombia represents Travel Reservations in trademark infringement lawsuit

Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría has represented Travel Reservations in a trademark infringement procedure

Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría counselled Travel Reservations SRL, owner of the whole DESPEGAR.COM trademarks, on the injunction and trademark infringement procedure in the merits, conducted against DESPEGAR.NET.CO website registrant, associated business store and its owners. The court ruled in favour of the plaintiff. It relayed on the grounds of trademark infringement for the use of an expression and domain name which are confusingly similar to the DESPEGAR.COM prestigious trademarks —thus ordering the dismantling of the infringing website.

There is still a criminal proceeding currently ongoing against the Defendants for similar related conducts.
