PPU counsels lenders on $100m CMPC loan

Law firm Philippi Prietocarrizosa, Ferrero DU & Uría (PPU) has advised a group of Japanese banks as the lenders on a $100 million loan to Inversiones CMPC.

papelThe lenders to the Chilean paper and pulp company are Japanese banks MUFG Bank, which acted as administrative agent, Gunma Bank, Hyakugo Bank, Iyo Bank, Shiga Bank, Bank of Kyoto, and Joyo Bank. 

PPU acted as local counsel to the lenders, and Davis Polk as New York-based counsel to the lenders, while Chilean law firm Carey acted as counsel to the borrower and guarantor. Sullivan and Cromwel acted as the borrower and guarantor’s New York-based counsel.

PPU’s partner Marcelo Armas led the firm’s team, with senior associate Daniel Parodi and associates Santiago Mesías and Vera Yacher.
