PPU counsels Sequoia Capital on $39m investment in Fintual Inc.
PPU Chile has advised Sequoia Capital on its first investment in Fintual Inc.
Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría Chile, together with Cooley, has counselled Sequoia Capital on its first investment in Fintual Inc. for a total Series B amount of $39 million US dollars.
This transaction, closed on 2 November, is Sequoia’s first investment in a Chilean company. It is also one of the largest capital raises in Chile.
PPU acted as Chilean advisor to the transaction, while Cooley advised Sequoia in the US.
Sequoia Capital is a US private equity firm, primarily focused on the technology sector. It has backed companies that now control $3.3 trillion in combined market value, including Apple, Google, Oracle, Youtube, Instagram, Zoom, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Paypal.
Cooley’s team was led by partner Rachel Proffitt, assisted by associate Alison Tong.
