PPU instructed on Amundi´s acquisition of Pioneer Investments

Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría advised Amundi on the Chilean law aspects of its acquisition of Pioneer Investment from UniCredit.

Amundi Asset Management is a French investment company created in 2010 when Credit Agricole and Societe Generale combined their asset-management businesses. Amundi went public last year to fund its international expansion as Societe Generale sold its stake.

Pioneer Investments is an asset management firm based in Boston and part of Italian financial company UniCredit until this transaction.

The deal, worth $3.8bn worldwide, spanned over 20 jurisdictions.

According to Bloomberg, Mediobanca, Goldman Sachs and Credit Agricole were financial advisers to Amundi while JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and UniCredit’s corporate and investment-banking unit advised the seller.

Partner Rafael Jiménez led the PPU team which counselled Amundi under Chilean law.

Unicredit instructed Italian law firm Gianni Origoni Grippo Cappelli & Partners.
