PPU represents Fresenius Medical Care in sale of subsidiaries to DaVita
Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría Chile has represented Fresenius Medical Care in the sale of part of its Chilean subsidiaries to DaVita. This was part of a larger sale of several of Fresenius Medical Care’s subsidiaries located in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Ecuador.
This transaction was closed on 5 March for USD 300 million. Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton acted as international advisor to Fresenius Medical Care; while Carey, Demarest, Gómez-Pinzón, Robalino and Sidley Austin advised DaVita in Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia and the US, respectively.
This was a landmark transaction, as it involved the sale of businesses in several Latin American jurisdictions and marked the buyer’s entry into the Chilean market.
Jeroen Holland, Darab Khan, Quincy Haw, Phoebe Craig, Marienne Melo and Daniela Rivera Díaz acted as in-house lawyers for DaVita.
Carey’s team comprised partner Jaime Carey A., and associates Jaime Coutts, Nicolás Marín, Fernanda Gabor.
Demarest’s team was represented by partner Guilherme Vieira da Silva.
Gómez-Pinzón’s team included partners Lina Uribe García and Mauricio Jaramillo, and lawyers Paola Valderrama, Biviana Helo Villegas, Juan Felipe Sáenz Dussán, Cristina Uribe, Andrés Eduardo Quiroz Brito y Bernardo Cárdenas de Bedout.
