PPU steers Colombia highway financing
Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría (PPU) in Colombia has counselled Banco Sentander as the lender in an $80 million short-term financing for the Río Magdalena highway
The financing was provided to Autopista Río Magdalena, as the concessionaire of the project, and which is an affiliate of Spanish company Aleatica.
The loan will be used to finance construction, maintenance and operation of the 150km highway project.
PPU’s team advising Banco Santander was led by partner Juan Fernando Gaviria (pictured), with associates Alexander Acosta, Clara Robledo Sánchez, Ana María Ramírez, Nelly Cubides, Daniela Hernández and Angie Gómez.
Baker Mckenzie acted as Colombian counsel to the borrower and the sponsors, while Clifford Chance in New York and Madrid acted as foreign counsel to the lender.
