PPV appoints two new partners

Uruguayan firm Posadas, Posadas & Vecino has appointed Victoria Garabato and Federico Peñasco as new partners.
The firm’s professional’s manager, Tomás Guerrero, said: “As in previous cases of senior professionals who have become partners, the decision has been based on the fact that they embody the values of the firm, both from a human and professional point of view, having stood out for their commitment and contributions to the firm throughout their professional career, achieving results characterised by excellence. We are certain that they will exercise their role as partners with the same dedication and sense of belonging that they have shown from the beginning, so having them in these new positions will allow them to increase their support to the growth and continuous improvement of the other members of the firm, of the firm itself and of the people who relate to us, whether as clients, colleagues, suppliers and contacts in general.”
Dr. Victoria Garabato (pictured left) works in the area of Corporate and Banking Law, where she specialises in Banking and Finance Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Energy and Natural Resources Law and Foreign Investment. She advises national and international companies, banks and multilateral lending institutions on local and international banking and capital markets transactions, and has extensive experience in environmental and regulatory matters. Prior to joining PPV, she worked as a foreign associate at Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal, in the Banking area. She holds a PhD in Law and Social Sciences from the Universidad de la República and is currently pursuing a Master in Law at the Universidad Católica del Uruguay. She is a professor of the Project Finance course at the University of Montevideo.
Federico Peñasco (pictured right) is a member of the Notary and Real Estate Department of the firm. He advises clients on all notarial and real estate matters, specialising in the structuring of real estate deals, trusts, restructuring of liabilities with real and personal guarantees and contracting in Commercial and Corporate Law, as well as carrying out complex sales and acquisitions of assets and companies. He holds a degree in Public Law from the Universidad de la República and a specialisation in Contract Law from the Universidad Católica del Uruguay.
With these incorporations, the number of Partners rises to 22.
