Prates & Maia Advogados has introduced Professor Georges Humbert as a new partner

 

Prates & Maia Advogados introduced professor Georges Humbert (pictured) as a new partner. Born in Salvador (BA), Humbert holds a master’s and doctorate in State Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) and a post-doctorate in Law and Democracy from the University of Coimbra.

He is the author of 24 books and hundreds of scientific researches, presides the Brazilian Institute of Law and Sustainability – IBRADES and is a member of the Commission for the Defense of the Environment of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/BA).

Among other activities, he was a special advisor to the Ministry of Environment, the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic and the Presidency of the Post Office. Former Superintendent of Environmental Policies of the State of Goiás.

He was a member of the National Council of Environment – CONAMA, of the Council of Responses to Disasters of the Government Council of the Presidency of the Republic, Environmental Council of the Federation of Industries of the State of Bahia, of the Forest Chamber of the Ministry of Agriculture and of the Secretary of Agriculture of the State of Bahia.
