Puerto Rico law firm McConnell Valdés opens Miami office
McConnell Valdés (McV), the largest full-service law firm in Puerto Rico and in the Caribbean, has opened an office in Miami.
McV Miami will provide legal services to a diverse roster of clients that range from individuals to real estate developers and financial institutions, in areas that include white-collar and criminal defence, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), labour, real estate, commercial financing, bankruptcy and workout matters, among other disciplines.
The office is headed by María Domínguez (pictured), who also leads the government enforcement and white collar and criminal defense practice team. A well-known litigator and a former first assistant US attorney in the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Puerto Rico, she has also worked as an assistant US attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida (Miami).
Domínguez began her career in public service as an assistant state attorney in the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida, under the leadership of former US Justice Secretary Janet Reno.
With its team of over 200 attorneys and staff, McConnell Valdés Puerto Rico will support McV Miami, allowing clients to benefit from cost efficiencies and savings unique to the Florida market.
