Ráo & Lago Advogados announces the arrival of a new partner
Ráo & Lago Advogados, which specializes in criminal law, has just announced the arrival of Marco Petrelluzzi (pictured) as a new partner.
With 40 years’ experience in the areas of criminal law, diffuse and collective rights, administrative improbity and public law, Marco’s professional experience includes working as a prosecutor and public prosecutor in the state of São Paulo for 32 years, from 1982 to 2014.
In addition, he has extensive experience in the public sector, having held the position of chief of staff of the Secretariat of Extraordinary Affairs of the São Paulo City Hall (1983-1985), chief of staff of the Governor of São Paulo (Mário Covas) in the National Constituent Assembly (1987-1988), special advisor to Governor Mario Covas, from 1995 to 1999, and Secretary of Public Security of the state of São Paulo, from 1999 to 2002. During his time in the public sector, he coordinated the Special Public Security Study Group to analyze public security techniques in New York and Chicago, in the United States.
With a degree in Law from the University of São Paulo (USP), Petrelluzzi specializes in Criminal Law, Diffuse and Collective Rights, Administrative Improbity and Public Law and has worked extensively as a professor of specialization courses at higher education institutions. Founding partner and first president of the Democratic Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPD), he is co-author of the book “Anti-Corruption Law – origins, comments and analysis of related legislation”, published by Saraiva in 2014. He was also an examiner for the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office in 2006.
