RE&M appoints two new partners

Rodrigo, Elías & Medrano Abogados has named Diana Briones and Martín Chocano as new partners

 Rodrigo, Elías & Medrano Abogados has appointed Diana Briones Morey, from the Regulatory Law practice, and Martín Chocano, from the Dispute Resolution practice, as new partners in the firm.

Diana Briones (pictured left) is a lawyer from the University of Lima and holds a Master’s degree in Economics, Regulation and Competition in Public Services from the University of Barcelona. She specialises in energy, infrastructure, utilities and arbitration. Previously, she was an intern at the Energy Research Institute of Catalonia and an international lawyer at Cuatrecasas Madrid. She advises companies in the energy, public transport infrastructure, telecommunications and sanitation sectors on regulatory and legal issues. Also, in the development of public-private partnerships, negotiation of concessions, financing contracts and mergers and acquisitions of regulated companies. She represents companies in dispute resolution proceedings in the aforementioned sectors.

Martín Chocano (pictured right) holds a Law Degree from the University of Lima and an LL.M in International Litigation & Arbitration from New York University. He was visiting international counsel to the international arbitration practice of Dechert LLP in its Washington D.C. office, specialising in international and domestic arbitration, as well as commercial, civil, constitutional and administrative litigation. He has experience in international investment arbitrations administered by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) or conducted under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. He also regularly represents clients in international arbitrations administered by the International Chamber of Commerce relating to commercial, construction, infrastructure and regulatory disputes.
