Ritch Mueller names four new partners and one of counsel
Ritch Mueller has incorporated Héctor Cárdenas, Santiago Carrillo, Adriana Padilla and Juan José Paullada as partners, and Rodrigo Conesa Labastida as of counsel
Mexican law firm Ritch Mueller has announced the appointments of Héctor Cárdenas Ortega, Santiago Carrillo Cattori, Adriana Padilla Rivas and Juan José Paullada Eguirao as partners and Rodrigo Conesa Labastida as of counsel for 2022.
Héctor Cárdenas Ortega (pictured top left) joined the firm in 2010. He has extensive experience in M&A representing buyers, sellers and financial advisors in asset and business sales processes in different sectors, including acquisitions through takeover bids, financings and reorganisations, with special emphasis on advising Private Equity funds in their structuring, as well as in their acquisitions and divestitures. In real estate, Hector is particularly active in transactions involving the structuring and raising of private equity real estate funds, as well as the purchase or sale of real estate and developments, representing both investors and developers. Previously Hector worked as a foreign associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York.
Santiago Carrillo Cattori (pictured top right) joined the firm in 2011. He is actively involved in financings, acquisitions and developments in respect of different real estate asset classes, including, among others, industrial and hotel assets, representing Mexican and foreign financial institutions, private equity funds and developers. He also advises Mexican and foreign financial institutions in the structuring of financings, particularly in structured credit transactions. Santiago worked as a foreign banking and finance associate at Mayer Brown in Chicago, IL.
Adriana Padilla Rivas (pictured bottom left) joined the firm in 2015. She has more than 14 years of professional experience and has participated in numerous commercial and investment protection arbitrations, both as counsel and arbitrator, under the rules of institutions such as ICC, LCIA, AAAICDR, ICSID, CANACO, CAM and others. She has experience in dispute resolution in a wide range of sectors, including infrastructure, energy, port, construction, consumer and corporate litigation, subject to Mexican, international or foreign law. He also has experience in judicial proceedings related to arbitration, such as the annulment and enforcement of awards and injunctive relief. Additionally, she has participated in multiple financial restructurings and insolvency proceedings, representing companies and creditors, and has also acted as an assistant conciliator. Adriana also worked as an international associate at Cleary Gottlieb in New York.
Juan José Paullada Eguirao (pictured bottom centre) joined the firm in 2017. He has more than 14 years of experience advising multinational companies in the Energy, Real Estate, Private Equity, Banking and Financial sectors in Tax and Administrative Litigation, as well as in Tax consulting. He specialises in dispute proceedings before tax authorities, administrative authorities, regulators and the Procuraduría de la Defensa del Contribuyente, as a consequence of audits, fines and administrative sanctions. He has particular experience in audits related to cross-border transactions, dealing with complex international tax matters and the application of double taxation treaties. Juan José was part of Ernst & Young’s international Tax practice in New York and Houston.
Rodrigo Conesa Labastida (pictured bottom right) has been with Ritch Mueller for more than 20 years and has had a distinguished career as leader of the Real Estate practice area. Rodrigo has taken the decision to step down as a partner of the firm and dedicate part of his time to developing his personal projects, however, he will continue to participate in the firm as of counsel.
