Robalino adds María Carolina Sacoto to its Cuenca office

Robalino has named María Carolina Sacoto (pictured) as Coordinator of its Cuenca office, reinforcing the firm’s professional team in one of Ecuador’s key cities. The appointment adds significant depth in intellectual property, data protection, and new technologies law to the office’s practice.

Sacoto brings a career spanning the strategic management of intangible assets, regulatory compliance, and technology transfer, with experience advising academic institutions, technology companies, and stakeholders across the productive sector.

She previously served as National Director of Industrial Property at Senadi, where she represented Ecuador in international processes and contributed to the development of technical regulations in the field. María Carolina also held the role of Legal Director at the Cuenca Chamber of Industries and currently teaches in the postgraduate Master’s Program in Constitutional Law at UTPL.

Her academic credentials include a law degree from UTPL, a degree in Business Engineering from the University of Azuay, and a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property and New Technologies Law from the University of La Rioja.
