Rodrigo de los Ríos joins Cannizzo as of counsel in the real estate practice

Cannizzo has announced the addition of Rodrigo de los Ríos Gordoa (pictured) as counsel in its Real Estate Practice. This strategic hire bolsters the firm’s leadership in one of Mexico’s most dynamic and fast-growing industries.

Rodrigo brings extensive cross-border experience, including structuring real estate transactions and financings involving FIBRAs (REITs) and CKDs, across the residential, industrial, and commercial segments. His work has also involved complex ejido land regularization.

Beyond his legal career, he led his own development fund, executing multiple real estate projects in Mexico City and Morelos, and also served as General Counsel for one of Mexico’s foremost mixed-use real estate developers.

Recent highlights of his work include advising on the legal regularization and acquisition of facilities for major beverage and brewing companies, managing the construction of corporate headquarters for a global food manufacturer, and negotiating high-value office leasing agreements.

Prior to joining Cannizzo, Rodrigo held key positions at top Mexican law firms including Von Wobeser y Sierra, Ibarra del Paso y Gallegos, Creel García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, and Galicia Abogados.

He earned his law degree from Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM), Campus Ciudad de México, holds an Executive Master’s in Real Estate Business Management from IE Business School in Madrid, and obtained an LL.M. in International Law with a focus on M&A, Real Estate, and Finance from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.

Founding partner Roberto Cannizzo highlighted that Rodrigo’s background and expertise are perfectly aligned with the firm’s vision to grow their real estate practice and meet the rising demand for sophisticated legal services in the sector.
