Mexico’s Sánchez Devanny promotes partner

Mexican law firm Sánchez Devanny has announced the promotion to partner of Eduardo Sotelo Cauduro, strengthening the firm’s international trade and customs practice.

Eduardo Sotelo of Sánchez DevannyEduardo Sotelo (pictured) has more than 15 years of experience advising domestic and international companies in many different industries in their international trade and customs operations, including automotive, textiles, retail, chemical, electronics, medical devices, petrochemical, luxury goods, pharmaceutical, software, cosmetics, aerospace, maquiladoras and trading companies, the firm said. He advises clients on their international trade and customs operations, free trade agreements and on anti-dumping laws, as well as in regulated economic sectors on regulation and operational matters.

In addition, Sotelo has extensive experience in litigating international trade and customs matters, NAFTA verifications of origin, tariff classification, rules of origin, export controls, import and export regimes, and has extensive knowledge of non-tariff regulations and restrictions.

Sotelo holds a law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana, and has been recognised in recent years by Chambers & Partners Global 2018 and 2019, as well as Latin America 2018, 2019 and 2020 in the category of International Trade/WTO, in LEGAL 500 Latin America 2018, Latin Lawyer 250 and recently, by Best Lawyers’ latest publication as one of the most prominent lawyers in international trade and customs in Mexico.

This promotion brings a third partner to the firm’s international trade and customs practice.
