Santander, Inbursa engage Jones Day for Mexico power plant refinancing

Jones Day has advised Banco Santander in Spain and Mexico and Banco Inbursa on a loan to Abent 3T to refinance a power station in Mexico. 

A3T power plant MexicoThe two banks acted as mandated lead arrangers in the execution of a credit facility in Mexican pesos equivalent to $381 million for the refinancing of a 220-megawatt co-generation plant located in the Mexican state of Tabasco.

The power plant (pictured), known as A3T, was developed by Spanish company Abengoa.
 
The Jones Day team was led by Alberto de la Parra and Arturo de la Parra, and included Marcela Verástegui and Adolfo Osorio, all of whom are based in the firm’s Mexico City office.
