Three offices of White & Case LLP and Santos Neto Advogados in São Paulo helped Caramuru Alimentos structure and implement its export securitization program of up to US$150 million for receivables granted for the export of products to Europe.

The investor, whose name remains confidential, enlisted Mayer Brown LLP in Chicago and Washington, DC and Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown in São Paulo.

Caramuru Alimentos raised the funds by issuing senior export notes, which were placed with outside institutional investors, who wish to remain confidential.

It was the first issue under Caramuru’s export securitization program.

Caramuru processes soybeans, corn, sunflower seeds, and canola through its facilities in the states of Goiás, Paraná, Mato Grosso, and São Paulo. The company is the fifth largest biofuel producer in Brazil.
