Sargent & Krahn, a law firm specialised in Intellectual Property has promoted Cristián Barros to partner
Sargent & Krahn announced the promotion of Cristián Barros (pictured), to partner.
The promotion was effective on January 1st, 2021. Barros has specialised in the field of Intellectual Property. He graduated from the Universidad Diego Portales, has a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Duke University and a diploma in Regulatory Affairs of Drugs, Biological Products and Cosmetics from the Universidad de Chile. Besides, he is currently a professor in the Industrial Property post-graduate program at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Cristián Barros joined the firm in 2011. Since then, he has specialised in matters related to patents, pharmaceutical regulation and trademarks, handling the portfolios of clients both locally and internationally, and the prosecution of the corresponding applications, contracts and litigation related to such matters.
Furthermore, since 2020 he was appointed as Director of the Chilean Association of Industrial Property Law (ACHIPI). Throughout his career, at Sargent & Krahn he has been highlighted and recognised in the rankings at a global level by different international publications.
