Schmidt, Valois, Miranda, Ferreira e Agel Advogados announced the admission of Gustavo Mascarenhas (pictured) as a partner. With a doctorate and master’s degree in Criminal Law from the University of São Paulo Law School (FD/USP), Gustavo was an advisor to a Justice of the Federal Supreme Court and a fellow at the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute at Harvard Law School (USA), under the guidance of David Harris. He is an adjunct professor at the IDP in Brasília and a lecturer and tutor for internal courses at the STF.
Specialist in Criminal Law, Compliance and Administrative Law, Gustavo is also the author of the book “AP 470: analysis of the media intervention in the mensalão trial”, prefaced by Professor Emeritus Dalmo de Abreu Dallari (LiberArs, 2013) and coordinator of the work “Habeas Corpus in the Supreme Court” (RT, 2019).
The partner’s entry coincided with the inauguration of a Schmidt Valois base in Brasilia, located in the Victoria Office Tower, in front of the Central Bank building and the National OAB building. Besides the federal capital, the law firm – which will hold debates on the O&G and Energy market in celebration of its 15 years of history completed in 2021 – has headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and an office in São Paulo.
