Scotiabank instructs PPU on $485m financing to Chilean telecom company

Philippi, Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría advised Scotiabank and other lenders on two loans for $485 million to VTR, which instructed Carey.

VTR is a telecommunications company in Chile and one of the country’s largest provider of subscription television. It is part of Liberty Global, the telecom multinational. VTR also owns CNN Chile jointly with Turner Broadcasting System.

Partner Marcelo Armas led the PPU team which provided local counsel to Scotiabank. 

VTR instructed Carey in Chile for matters under local law and Ropes & Gray as international counsel.
