Several firms act in deal between EBTE, Mineração Dardanelos and EAPSA
Veirano Advogados represented EBTE – Empresa Brasileira de Transmissão de Energia (a transmission concessionaire owned by Alupar and Taesa); Lollato Lopes Rangel Ribeiro Advogados and Rolim Goulart Cardoso Advogados advised Mineração Dardanelos (a mining company owned by Nexa) and Rodrigues Barbosa, Mac Dowell de Figueiredo, Gasparian Advogados assisted EAPSA – Energética Águas da Pedra (a power generation company owned by Neoenergia) on an agreement to transfer transmission assets currently owned by EAPSA and Mineração Dardanelos to EBTE.
This transfer allowed the mining company’s new plant to be connected to the Brazilian interconnected system via a transmission line that had previously been of exclusive interest to EAPSA.
The new mining plant, known as the Aripuanã Project, is an underground polymetallic mine designed to extract and process zinc, copper, lead, gold and silver. Following the connection of Mineração Dardanelos, the transmission assets currently owned by Energética Águas da Pedra (EAPSA) – a power generation company owned by the Neoenergia Group (part of the Iberdrola Group) – will be incorporated into EBTE’s network through a non-costly asset transfer procedure.
The transaction value was BRL 336,968,061.74
