Several law firms work on the Liberty Group acquisition

Machado Meyer Advogados advised Talanx, HDI International and HDI Seguros on the acquisition of select Liberty Mutual Insurance Inc., businesses in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador.

Mattos Filho Advogados advised the Liberty Group on the sale of its divisions of personal, small commercial, and life business in Brazil (Global Retail Market), as well as specialty and large commercial insurance business (Liberty Special Markets).

Hogan Lovells (EUA, Brasil e Alemanha) acted as legal advisor to Talanx AG and HDI International AG in the transaction and relied on partners Peter Cohen-Millstein (New York), Birgit Reese (Dusseldorf), Isabel Carvalho (São Paulo), visiting International Lawyer Aafke Pronk (New York), and associate Felipe Borges Lacerda (São Paulo).

Claro & Cía (Chile), Posse Herrera Ruiz (Colombia), Bustamante Fabara (Equador) also advised Talanx AG and HDI International AG.

HDI International moves up to third place in the property and casualty insurance market in Latin America through acquisitions. The transaction value was worth BRL 7 billion.
