Simpson Thacher advised FIBRA Macquarie México on latest private placement and loan

Simpson Thacher advised FIBRA Macquarie México on a $250 million private placement and a $400 million dual-currency term loan and revolving credit facility.

FIBRA Macquarie México is a real estate investment trust (or FIBRA under its Spanish acronym) which holds one of the largest industrial real estate portfolios in the country. FIBRA Macquarie México is managed by a division of Macquarie Group.

The company will use the proceedings to refinance existing secured credit facilities.

Partner Juan Francisco Méndez led the Simpson Thacher team advising FIBRA Macquarie México on both transactions. The company also instructed Creel as Mexican counsel for the private placement and the credit facility.

The purchasers of the private placement retained Morgan, Lewis & Bockius as US counsel and Nader, Hayaux & Goebel as Mexican counsel.

For the loan, the lenders mandated Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton for US law matters and Galicia for Mexican law.
