Souto Correa has advised the investors in a R$100-million Series A round of financing led by Atmos Capital, on an investment in Origem Motos. Origem and its founding shareholders were advised by Michiles Tavares Advocacia.

Origem is a Brasília-based start-up that produces and rents electrical motorcycles on an innovative “as a service” model. Origem is currently the sole manufacturer of electric motorcycles in Brazil and expects to use the proceeds of this round of financing to foster production, including in a new facility in the free trade zone of Manaus in the north of Brazil. According to Origem, its value-creation proposition mixes competitive and predictable price, autonomy based on logistics to switch batteries and a choice for a sustainable model for many companies.

Souto Correa Advogados’ team was led by partners Mauricio Paschoal (pictured left) and Giedre Brajato (pictured right), and included Alexandre Aigner and Bruno Teixeira. Partner Henry Lummertz advised on tax matters.

Michiles Tavares Advocacia’s team was led by partner Saulo Michiles.
