Tauil & Chequer advises banks on BRL 1.2 Bi issuance by Celesc
Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown advised Banco BTG Pactual, Itaú Unibanco, XP Investimentos and Banco Votorantim on the structuring and coordination of Celesc Distribuição’s seventh debenture issuance.
The transaction was carried out through a public offering of simple debentures, non-convertible into shares, of the unsecured type, with an additional fiduciary guarantee, in two series, in the amount of R$ 1.2 billion.
The net proceeds raised through the first series of the issuance will be allocated to investments and strengthening the company’s liquidity reserve, while those of the second series will be exclusively used for reimbursing expenses or costs related to the expansion, renovation, or improvement of the electric power distribution infrastructure, as well as future investments related to its implementation.
Tauil & Chequer relied on partner Luis Montes (pictured) and associates Wilson Jung and Marcella Castellano.
