Tauil & Chequer advises Bunge on the acquisition of CJ Selecta
Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown advised Bunge Alimentos on the acquisition of CJ Selecta, the largest producer of soy protein concentrate in the world, with revenues of approximately USD 900 million in 2022.
CJ Selecta is controlled by the South Korean conglomerate CJ CheilJedang, known for its diverse businesses in food ingredients, packaged products, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. This strategic move strengthens Bunge’s position in the animal feed ingredients market and expands its product portfolio into higher-margin processed products.
Tauil & Chequer Advogados team advising Bunge was led by partners Christian Roschmann (pictured left) and Lilian Toscani (pictured right), and included partners Francisco Todorov, Adriana Giannini and Guido Vinci, as well as associates Stefano Braga, André Pini, Isabella Giorgi, Felipe Pereira, Marcella Medved, Niandra Soares and Mariana Iecker.
The Bunge in-house legal team that took part in the operation was made up of Fernando Zanetti, Nikolas Gomes, Marcella Tasso, Mariana Barrosa and Marina Roque.
