Tauil & Chequer advises Ibitu Energia on the sale of a stake in CEC

Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown advised Ibitu Energia on connection with the drafting, negotiation and execution of a shares purchase agreement, including as sellers, the investment funds Astra Infraestrutura I (controller of Ibitu Energia) and BMPI Infra, and, as buyers, Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) and CSN Energia (controlled by CSN), by means of which Astra Infraestrutura I and BMPI Infra intend to sell 100% of their equity interest held in Companhia Energética Chapecó – CEC (respectively, 59% and 41%), holder of the grant to explore the Hydroelectric Power Plant Quebra-Queixo.
The case was led by Infrastructure partner Bruno Werneck (pictured) and associate Maria Isabel Amato, with the participation of associate Grazielle Pereira.

Ulhôa Canto, Rezende e Guerra Advogados was also involved at this deal and relied on Marcelo Santos, Ana Ferreira, Estela Rodrigues, Luiz Toledo, Camila Mortella and Carolina Heitmann.
