Tauil & Chequer in association with Mayer Brown announces the promotion of two partners and four counsel
Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown announces the promotion of counsel Priscilla Santos (pictured top left) and Gustavo Scheffer (pictured top right) to partners of the Firm. In addition, associates João Luiz Cople, Luciana Sodre, Maria Carolina Gimenez and Anna Gouvea (in the bottom image from left to right) will assume the position of counsel.

Those elevated lawyers are:
Priscilla Santos, 38, from São Paulo office and Banking & Finance practice, concentrates her practice on Brazilian banking and capital markets law. She also has also particular experience in asset management, especially regulatory aspects related to Brazilian investment funds. Recent experience has concentrated on banking, particularly on advising foreign financial institutions that intend to establish subsidiaries in Brazil or acquire regulated entities in Brazil.
Gustavo Scheffer, 39, from São Paulo office and Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice, worked for the Secretariat of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC, where he worked as Deputy Counsel in the Latin-American team, based in Paris, and as Counsel responsible for the São Paulo office of the ICC’s Secretariat of the Court.
João Luiz Cople, 38, from Rio de Janeiro office and Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice, has more than seven years of experience in arbitration, civil litigation, administrative litigation, tax litigation, insurance litigation, electoral disputes and social security disputes.
Luciana Sodre, 34, from Rio de Janeiro office and Corporate & Securities practice, has experience in the analysis and drafting of corporate acts and contracts such as share purchase agreements, shareholders’ and investment agreements, commercial agreements as well as participation and coordination of due diligences, assisting foreign and Brazilian companies.
Maria Carolina Gimenez, 35, from São Paulo office and Real Estate practice, has several years of real estate matters had advised GLP Brasil, a subsidiary of the Singapore-based Global Logistic Properties (GLP) in buying 34 warehousing and logistical assets from BR Properties, assisted Tishman Speyer in the lease of the condominium Green Towers Brasília to Banco do Brasil, together with VIA Engenharia, among others important deals.
Anna Gouvea, 34, from São Paulo office and Banking & Finance practice, has participated in significant transactions in Brazil, including debt offerings of Brazilian private issuers (local/offshore), Brazilian banking regulation, especially regulatory aspects of foreign bank activities in Brazil and other related corporate matters in Brazil, and project finance transactions.
