Tauil & Chequer Advogados joins the Global Compact Network Brazil, an initiative of the United Nations (UN) which aims to mobilize the business community to adopt and promote its ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.

For Victor Galante (pictured), the Firm’s managing partner, this step reinforces the commitment to a business model that respects ESG principles and generates positive impacts for society and for the future of the planet, stimulating the constant evolution of internal sustainability practices.

Through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the Global Compact, Tauil & Chequer has also assumed the mission of engaging in this new agenda and reporting annually on its progress towards the ten principles.

Conceived by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in 2000, the Global Compact offers members access to tools with the aim of increasing the involvement of companies and organizations with sustainability issues and their discussions.

It also enables participation in local and international programs, among which the thematic groups that conduct projects in the areas of Water, Food and Agriculture, Anti-Corruption, Human Rights and Labor, Energy and Climate, and SDGs.

With more than 17 thousand participants in almost 170 countries, the initiative has more than 1300 members in Brazil, the third largest network in the world.
