Tauil & Chequer promotes two partners and one counsel

Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown announced the promotion of Cristiane Manzueto (pictured left) and Luciana Sodré (pictured center) to partners and associate Gedham Gomes (pictured right) to counsel, from the Intellectual Property and Data Protection, Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions and Environmental practices, respectively.

They will assume their new positions from January 1, 2023.

Cristiane Manzueto, based in Rio de Janeiro, works in the in the Intellectual Property and Cybersecurity & Data Privacy of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown. With over 20 years of experience, Cristiane handles the full spectrum of intellectual property work. Her practice includes IP management and strategy, including trademark, copyright, software, trade dress, trade secret, industrial design and patent (mainly in oil & gas), both on administrative and judicial spheres. On the IP transaction, Cristiane has a wide experience with technology transfer, software, copyrights & franchising agreements and data protection, in addition to participating in complex M&A and Tech transactions. Cristiane further advises clients on privacy and cybersecurity matters in Brazil and other jurisdictions in Latin America, including preparing for and reacting to cyber-attacks, assessing and making required data breach notifications, providing advice on cross-border data processing.

Luciana Sodré, based in Rio de Janeiro, works in the Corporate and M&A practice of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown, mainly focusing on major projects in the oil & gas industry. Luciana has experience with share purchase agreements, shareholders’ and investment agreements, commercial agreements as well as participation and coordination of due diligences, assisting foreign and Brazilian companies. Also, she has experience with infrastructure projects, in the negotiations and drafting of EPC contracts and related documents.

Gedham Gomes, based in Rio de Janeiro, works in the in the Environmental practice of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown. Practicing Environmental Law since 2007, he focuses on preventive consulting, including environmental licensing, contaminated areas, climate change and carbon markets, as well as litigation, including class actions and crisis management, particularly by representing clients in complex negotiations with opposing counsel, governmental agencies, public prosecutors and other stakeholders. Gedham advises companies – especially in the energy, infrastructure and agribusiness sectors – on environmental and climate compliance, risk assessment and the structuring of net zero strategies, providing support on the implementation of projects and partnerships enabling GHG emissions offsetting and development of Nature-based Solutions. He also advises project developers and proponents on the legal aspects of carbon credit projects, particularly REDD+ and ARR, including when developed and certified in public lands. Gedham also has a Urban Law background allowing him to assist clients in urban-related infrastructure matters, such as urban licensing and urban impact assessments, smart/sustainable city technologies and mobility.
