The volume of Mergers and Acquisitions grow in January

Mergers and Acquisitions volume recorded a 61% growth in the first month of 2022

According to the monthly Transactional Track Record report in collaboration with Intralinks, in January 2022, the Brazilian transactional market registered a 61% growth compared to the same period in 2021.

Of the transactions recorded in the first month of the year, 42% had their values disclosed, totaling the value of R$22.4 billion. More than half, 73% of the transactions, have already been completed.

The Internet, Software & IT Services sector was the most active in January, with 38 transactions, followed by the Business & Professional Support Services sector, with 37 transactions.

The United States was the country that invested the most in Brazil at the beginning of the year. Compared to the same period last year, the increase was 107%.

The report also published the ranking of financial and legal advisors in January 2022 in M&A, Private Equity, Venture Capital and Capital Markets, by number of transactions and total value.

In terms of ranking of legal advisors, by number of transactions in 2022, the law firm Bronstein Zilberberg Chueiri & Potenza Advogados, represented here by Eduardo Zilberberg (pictured left) led, with 16 transactions. In value, Spinelli Advogados, represented here by partner Sergio Spinelli (pictured right) led with a total of BRL 3.0bn.
