TozziniFreire announces hiring of partners taken from Lefosse
TozziniFreire has announced the arrival of Carlos Barbosa Mello (pictured left) and Mirella Mie Abe (pictured right), advancing its strategic consolidation plan in the transactional market with these important hires for its corporate team.
Carlos Mello is one of the protagonists of the Brazilian transactional scene, at the head of several of the most important operations in the Brazilian capital markets in recent years, working in the area of mergers and acquisitions and as a member of the Executive Committee of his previous firm for around 15 years, being Managing Partner for three years during this period.
Carlos worked as a foreign lawyer at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York, holds an LL.M. from Columbia University and passed the New York State Bar Exam in 2022.
Mirella has solid experience in the Corporate area, actively participating in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations, foreign investment in Brazil and contractual analysis. With a career spanning more than 25 years in large law firms, her recent client portfolio includes big names in the life sciences and health market, food and beverages, as well as media and entertainment.
Mirella holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Mackenzie Presbyterian University and a master’s degree in corporate law (LL.M.) from the University of Michigan.
Both partners came from Lefosse.
