TozziniFreire announces new partner to strengthen areas
TozziniFreire Advogados, announced Ligia Pereira Schlittler (pictured) as the new partner for the Infrastructure and Energy, Corporate, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) areas.
She has broad experience in the renewable energy market (wind, solar, and hydropower) and infrastructure, advising generation, transmission, and distribution concessionaires, and handling corporate/M&A matters in the national market. Internationally, Ligia advises countries on implementing strategies to reduce carbon emissions and on energy transition.
Graduate of the Law School of UERJ (University of Rio de Janeiro), Ligia holds an LL.M. degree from Duke University School of Law and a specialization degree in Environmental and Energy Law from the same institution. She also holds a specialization degree in Corporate Law and a university extension certificate in Contract Law, both from FGV (Fundação Getulio Vargas. Besides Brazil, Ligia Schlittler is licensed to practice law in the states of New York and California.
Additionally, Ligia is the founder of the women’s leadership group Women in Energy (Mulheres de Energia), which brings together female senior executives from the energy industry, with different backgrounds and experiences to discuss the sector’s issues and female leadership.
