TozziniFreire assists OTPP in the acquisition of the power transmission company Evoltz from TPG in Brazil
TozziniFreire Advogados assisted Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board – OTPP in the acquisition of 100% of the shares held by the fund of global Private Equity sponsor TPG, power transmitter Evoltz Participações
OTPP took over 100% of Evoltz, which was owned by the American Texas Pacific Group (TPG).
The assets acquired by OTTP include five operational transmission lines, all the shares of Manaus Transmissora de Energia S.A. – MTE, and 51% of the shares of Norte Brasil Transmissora de Energia S.A.
The acquisition involved a highly competitive process involving key players in electric power transmission, as well as private equity funds and institutional investors.
With the deal, OTPP adds to its portfolio a total of 3,500 kilometers of extension across 10 states.
