TozziniFreire assits CGG in the consolidation of its stake by Cantagalo

TozziniFreire has counselled CGG on the sale of Sojitz’s 43% share to Cantagalo

TozziniFreire Advogados advised CGG Trading S.A. on the Cantagalo General Grains S.A acquisition of 43.13% of shares owned previoysly by Sojitz Grãos Brasil Participações Ltda. Thus Cantagalo General Grains S.A. consolidated its control over CGG Trading S.A.

CGG Trading is a Brazilian export company which ranks among the ten largest companies in the agricultural sector with sales around $1,4 billion during 2014. A volume of 4.5 million tons of grain is carried using the major Brazilian ports. It has direct access to International clients in every corner of the world, with an emphasis on Asia.

TozziniFreire team was led by partners Fernando Carvalho (pictured left), Maria Elisa Gualandi Verri (pictured centre), and Guilherme Ribas (pictured right), and involved associates Mariana Cornibert da Barrosa and Raquel Souza Jorge.

Machado Meyer Advogados counselled Sojitz Grãos Brasil Participações Ltda. and Cantagalo General Grains S.A. in-house Fernanda Duarte, were also involved in the transaction.
