TozziniFreire opens Belo Horizonte office

TozziniFreire Advogados has inaugurated a new office in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais, expanding its footprint in a state the firm considers strategic for its business-law practice. The new unit is intended to bring the firm closer to clients operating in the region, across Brazil and internationally.

The opening adds Belo Horizonte to TozziniFreire’s existing network of offices in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Porto Alegre and Campinas. According to the firm, the move responds to the growing weight of Minas Gerais in the national economy: the state recorded a gross domestic product of BRL 1.157 trillion in 2025, driven by agribusiness, mining, manufacturing, commerce and services. The firm points to increasing activity from Minas Gerais-based companies in corporate transactions, investments, financings, restructurings, infrastructure projects and capital markets deals as a factor behind the decision to establish a physical presence in the state.

Gustavo Rugani, partner in the firm’s Capital Markets, Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practices, described the opening as a natural step given the state’s role in the national business environment.
