TozziniFreire welcomes its new professionals
TozziniFreire has incorporated two new professionals: Marcelo Zenkner, Regulatory Group and Ana Carolina Katlauskas Calil, Infrastructure and Energy
The new members of the TozziniFreire team are part of the strategy to expand in the areas of Compliance & Investigation, Administrative Law & Governmental Projects, Infrastructure and Energy.
The change is a response to the growing demand for assistance from compliance specialists and for the sale of products and services to the government sector, resulting from the prominence that these issues have been gaining in Brazil’s economic agenda.
The entry of Marcelo Zenkner (pictured left) as co-head of the firm’s regulatory practice group, together with Shin Jae Kim and Marcelo Calliari, reinforces and consolidates the multidisciplinary approach of TozziniFreire’s work in these matters.
D. in Public Law, Marcelo has over 25 years of experience in the legal field, especially in public law, compliance, and anti-corruption policies. He was a Public Prosecutor in the State of Espírito Santo between 1997 and 2019, playing key roles in the fight against corruption, administrative improbity and organized crime. Marcelo also served as legal advisor to the Presidency and member of the Disciplinary Measures Committee at Petrobras, and was subsequently selected and appointed to the position of Executive Director of Governance and Compliance at the same company, holding his position from 2019 to 2021.
Ana Carolina (pictured right) is currently pursuing an online LL.M. in International Energy Law and Policy at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee, UK. She is highly qualified in electricity regulation, assisting clients from different industry segments – generation, distribution, transmission and trading – in both regulatory and transactional matters.
