Trench Rossi announces new managing partner and new partners

Trench Rossi Watanabe announces new managing partner and three new partners. Joaquim de Paiva Muniz (pictured left), partner and head of Trench Rossi Watanabe’s arbitration group, is a new member of the Executive Committee and, together with Simone Musa and Claudio Moretti, will become the firm’s managing partner.

J. Roberto Martins, who has served on the committee for two terms in the last six years, will remain at the firm as lead partner of the Energy group, further strengthening its client service.

Joaquim de Paiva Muniz heads the group of extrajudicial conflict resolution methods, with a focus on Arbitration and Mediation. He is also a consultant with extensive experience in M&A, infrastructure contracts, mining and oil and gas regulation. He also teaches Arbitration, M&A and Corporate Law in postgraduate courses. He is president of CONIMA (National Council of Mediation and Arbitration Institutions), project director of the endowment fund of the UERJ law school and director of Arbitration at the Brazilian Center for Mediation and Arbitration – CBMA.

The firm also announced the appointment of three new partners who were already part of the firm’s team and will now join the firm in their respective practice areas: Fernanda Haddad (pictured top left), in the civil litigation & asset management, family and succession group; Gabriela Bezerra Fischer (pictured center left), in energy, mining and infrastructure, and Manuela Demarche (pictured bottom left), in environment, climate change and sustainability.
