Trench Rossi appoints partner as new president of CONIMA

Trench Rossi Watanabe has announced that Joaquim de Paiva Muniz (pictured), partner and head of the firm’s arbitration and mediation group, is the new president of CONIMA (National Council of Mediation and Arbitration Institutions).

As the entity’s manager for the 2024-2026 triennium, the lawyer is focused on strengthening collaboration with member institutions, helping with the Extrajudicial Methods of Dispute Resolution (MESCs).

Joaquim also teaches Arbitration, M&A and Corporate Law in postgraduate courses, is president of the Arbitration Commission of the OAB/RJ Sectional Council, director of Arbitration at the Brazilian Center for Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA) and a member of the Advisory Council of SIAC (Singapore Int. Arbitration Center). At Trench Rossi Watanabe, he acts in arbitrations, as well as advising clients on M&A, infrastructure contracts, mining and oil and gas regulation.
