Trench Rossi Watanabe advises DFC on financing with Stone

Trench Rossi Watanabe advised the International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), a US government agency, on a US$ 467.5 million (approximately R$ 2.3 billion) financing commitment to advance Stone‘s receivables with a focus on micro, small and medium-sized companies in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil.

“The transaction was DFC’s largest in Brazil and the first large-scale securitization of dollars backed by receivables in reais. It was also the first issue of FIDC quotas for investment or innovation projects under the terms of Law 12.431, with income tax exemption for foreign investors,” explains Eduardo Herszkowicz (pictured), a partner in Trench Rossi Watanabe’s Transactional area, who led the negotiation with the support of associates Mayara Lourenço and Daniel Mota, and trainee Maria Eduarda Urbano.
