Trench Rossi Watanabe advises on AccorInvest and Trimble transactions
Trench Rossi Watanabe has advised on two recently concluded strategic transactions in the hotel and technology sectors. The firm represented AccorInvest on the sale of the Ibis Budget Porto Alegre hotel and assisted Trimble in the sale of its transportation telematics unit in Brazil, as part of a global transaction with Platform Science.
In the first transaction, the firm advised AccorInvest on the sale of the Ibis Budget Porto Alegre to a local investor, who will continue to operate the hotel after a modernization process. This transaction is part of AccorInvest’s strategic plan to sell assets in Latin America, which included the largest hotel operation in Brazil in 2024, also advised by Trench Rossi Watanabe, in which more than 20 hotels were acquired by Banco BTG Pactual.
The team involved in the operation included partners Anna Mello (pictured left) and Marcel Nunes (pictured center), as well as associates João Francisco Brandão and João Miguel Damous.
In the technology sector, Trench Rossi Watanabe advised Trimble on the sale of its transportation telematics unit in Brazil to Platform Science, as part of a global transaction in which Trimble became a shareholder of the buyer.
The operation seeks to accelerate innovation in the transportation sector, allowing customers to access technological solutions without the need to change hardware.
In Brazil, the deal had significant challenges, including a previous corporate restructuring to segregate Trimble’s transportation business.
The firm’s team included partner Mauricio Pacheco (pictured right) and associates Victor Sigaud, Gustavo Freitas and Felipe Kang. Ana Veschi, Trimble’s in-house lawyer, was also involved in the operation.
