Trench Rossi Watanabe launches its social responsibility institute

Trench Rossi Watanabe has announced the launch of its social responsibility institute.

The organization, created from the investments of its partners, was born with the mission of becoming a relevant incubator for social and professional change, democratizing access to the legal profession through education.

The actions supported are aimed at promoting social mobility, especially for black, brown and indigenous people, guaranteeing equal opportunities and combating historical inequalities – a survey by the Center for the Study of Labor Relations and Inequalities with the Legal Alliance for Racial Equity found that the presence of black lawyers in large São Paulo firms was only 11% in 2022.

Simone Dias Musa, managing partner of Trench Rossi Watanabe and one of the creators of the institute, said that even with the consolidation of the institute, the firm will continue to invest and develop actions through its Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, created years ago and which includes Pro Bono work and actions aimed at diversity, equity, inclusion, social mobility, volunteering and sustainability, as well as support for socio-cultural projects.

The idea is that the actions – of both the office and the institute – add up and complement each other, promoting relevant social change.

The board of the Trench Rossi Watanabe Institute is made up of Anna Mello, Gustavo Biagioli and Marcos Kawasaki.

The Advisory Board, made up of people from different pillars of diversity, includes Almir Paiva, Bruna Messias, Julia Piccolomini and Viviane Scrivani.
