Two firms act on deal between Scala Data Centers and Serena
Veirano Advogados assisted Serena Energia in a self-production arrangement, while Machado Meyer Advogados represented Scala.
The acquisition of a stake and renewable energy purchase agreement by Scala Data Centers for the Assuruá 4 and Ventos da Bahia 3 wind power projects, owned by Serena Energia, was advised by two of Brazil’s leading law firms.
The deal stands out as one of the most significant for Latin America’s data center and energy sectors. Scala, the first Latin American data center operator to achieve 100% renewable energy sourcing, reinforces its commitment to sustainability through this long-term wind energy contract.
With growing energy demands driven by the expansion of hyperscale data centers and artificial intelligence applications, this transaction strengthens Scala’s strategic position in the market. Both Veirano and Machado Meyer handled the negotiation of the definitive agreements and led the due diligence process for the wind energy generation projects involved.
Veirano relied on partners Mauricio Paschoal, Fabio Di Lallo; associates Alexandre Aigner, Lucas Philippi Dall Agnol, and Lucas Frayha Sales.
Machado Meyer relied on partner Laura Souza, Vitor Fernandes de Araújo, lawyers Enzo Campolim and Isabella Coimbra Peixoto.
