Two firms advises on the acquisition of solar photovoltaic plants
Souto Correa advised Companhia Paranaense de Energia (Copel) on the sale of its small-scale distributed generation portfolio to Thopen Energia, which was advised by Vieira Rezende Advogados.
The transaction involved ten solar photovoltaic plants located in the State of Paraná, Brazil, with a total capacity of approximately 22.75 megawatt-peak (MWp), three of which are owned by the SPEs Pharma Solar II, III, and IV, based in Bandeirantes, and seven owned by Copel Serviços through its branches in Santo Antônio da Platina, Sarandi, and Reserva do Iguaçu.
The deal represents Copel’s complete exit from the small-scale distributed generation segment, in line with its strategy to focus on large-scale energy generation, transmission, and distribution activities.
