Veirano adds Paulo Macedo Garcia as partner
Veirano Advogados has brought in Paulo Macedo Garcia as a new partner in its Dispute Resolution practice, based in São Paulo. The move adds to the firm’s arbitration capabilities and is part of a wider strategy to expand its footprint in the region while investing in practice areas tied to client demand.
Macedo Garcia has spent his career handling arbitration and litigation matters both in Brazil and internationally. He has represented clients in disputes spanning infrastructure, insurance, sanitation, healthcare, franchising, education, agrochemicals, pulp and paper, and mining, alongside corporate and commercial arbitrations. He previously served as a clerk to justices at Brazil’s Superior Court of Justice (STJ) and Federal Supreme Court (STF).
Macedo Garcia is not new to the firm: he worked at Veirano between 2011 and 2012 before returning now in a new role. He holds LL.B., LL.M. and Ph.D. degrees in Law from the University of São Paulo (USP) and an LL.M. from Columbia University School of Law. He currently serves as a director of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr) and is listed as an arbitrator with the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CAM-CCBC) and the Brazilian Center for Mediation and Arbitration (CAMARB).
Alongside Macedo Garcia, Veirano also welcomed Thiago Martins as an Associate and Luisa Saboya as a Mid-Level Associate to the same practice.
