Veirano and Demarest advise on Grupo Imetame-HGT joint venture

Veirano Advogados and Demarest Advogados advised on the formation of a joint venture between Grupo Imetame and Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT), a subsidiary of Hapag-Lloyd, for the development and operation of a container terminal in Aracruz, Espírito Santo.

Under the agreement, each party will hold a 50% stake in Imetame Logística Porto, which will be renamed Hanseatic Global Terminals Aracruz following the closing of the transaction. The terminal is expected to begin operations by mid-2028, with an annual capacity of approximately 1.2 million TEU.

Veirano advised Imetame Participações e Empreendimentos. The multidisciplinary team included partners Mauricio Paschoal, Livia Amorim, Heloísa do Amaral, Bruno Habib Negreiros Barbosa and Enrico Romaniello, together with senior associates and associates from the corporate, infrastructure, tax and antitrust practices.

Demarest advised HL Terminal Holding B.V. (HGT), with a team led by partners Gabriel Ricardo Kuznietz, Daniel Caramaschi and Bruno Aurelio, supported by senior associate Roberta Souza Batalha and associates Bianca Reis and Roberta Helena Chiminazzo.
