Veirano Advogados announced Luiz Rafael de Vargas Maluf as the new partner of Capital Markets
With a strong background in ECM and DCM transactions, Luiz Rafael de Vargas Maluf is the new partner of Veirano Advogados. Reinforcing the firm’s team, Rafael will work from São Paulo, focusing his practice on representing investment banks and companies from Brazil and abroad.
Boasting over 17 years of extensive practice in the Capital Markets, Rafael built his career in many leading Brazilian business law firms, including as a partner in some of them, in addition to having worked as an international associate in the New York office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett between 2016-2017.
During his time in the US firm, he was a member of the Corporate/Latin America Practice Group, advising Latin American companies in M&A transactions, IPOs and fixed income transactions (bonds). Before joining Veirano, Rafael was a Citibank Legal Counsel responsible for several IPOs, on secondment from his previous firm.
Rafael holds an LL.M. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Post-Graduation degree in Corporate Law from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree at Universidade Mackenzie.
